Dry Cough is honoured to bring you 'The Dead Replenish The Earth', the brand new album from BLIND MONARCH.

The Sheffield band's debut, 2019's 'What Is Imposed, Must Be Endured' is one of my favourite doom albums of the last 10 years, and in my eyes they have yet to recieve the recognition they so richly deserve. I fully expect that to change with the release of their second full length, which showcases their blend of Asunder's crushing doom and mournful melodies, and Burning Witch's vicious, tar-like caustic sludge, to hypnotic and pulverising effect.

'The Dead Replenish The Earth' is an exploration of loss. Themes of death and depression are present throughout; to die is to lose everything, and depression is itself a kind of slow death.

Once again, the album was recorded in a state of acute discomfort, with temperatures in the room rarely rising above freezing and instruments, amps and bodies all suffering for it.
